How accurate is the detection?

Music analysis is never exact — algorithms can misread tempo or hear a relative key. SongKeyPad is an assistant, not ground truth. Every result shows a confidence percentage and an alternate reading, and the chord timeline stays fully editable so your ears decide.
Is SongKeyPad really offline, and is it safe for unreleased tracks?

Yes. SongKeyPad performs its analysis locally on your Windows PC and includes no networking code. Your audio is not uploaded, and the app has no accounts, telemetry, advertising, or in-app analytics. That makes it suitable for private demos, unreleased tracks, stems, and client material that you do not want to send to a cloud service. Store purchases are handled by itch.io or the Microsoft Store, and the marketing website uses the analytics services disclosed in the privacy policy; neither changes how the desktop app processes audio.

SongKeyPad does not currently batch-scan a whole library, write tags directly into DJ software, provide Camelot notation, place intro or outro markers, or choose compatible tracks automatically; it gives you local analysis that you can verify with your ears.

Can SongKeyPad detect BPM and key from a microphone in real time?

SongKeyPad offers a microphone quick-scan rather than continuous real-time listening. Press the mic key to record a short passage, stop the capture, and the same local analysis workflow automatically estimates its BPM, musical key, and chords. The recording is written to a temporary folder, used only for that analysis, and cleaned up automatically; it is never transmitted. SongKeyPad does not continuously monitor a microphone or capture system audio.
Can I edit the chord results?

Yes. The chord timeline is fully editable: retag chords, fix boundaries, undo/redo, and nudge changes by 0.1s. You can also select any part of the waveform and analyze just that section.
Can I export timestamped chord changes as CSV or JSON?

Yes. SongKeyPad can export its analysis as plain text, CSV, or JSON, including the timestamped chord timeline you reviewed and corrected. Text is useful for quick notes and sharing; CSV works well for a spreadsheet or other tabular workflow; and JSON provides a machine-readable format for scripts or custom tools. The export reflects your edited timeline, so you can retag chords and adjust change boundaries before taking the structured data into the next stage of a DJ, production, transcription, or music-analysis workflow.
